Baringa Private Hospital was the first Medical / Surgical hospital built outside Sydney. It was the first private hospital on the Mid North Coast, which opened in 1978 as a medical surgical hospital.

Baringa Private Hospital played a vital role in recruiting specialists to the Coffs Harbour area, including four on-site specialists.
